What changed in ShopBoard
Every change you’d notice in the app, newest first. Fixes included, because those matter too.
- Fixed
Night shifts get their hour-by-hour
A shift that runs past midnight, like 22:00 to 06:00, now gets its hour columns: 10PM through 5AM, kept under the day the shift started. If an hour, Apply Schedule or a saved plan doesn't save, the board now says which hours and why. A failed hour keeps the numbers you typed. The day panel shows a separate hour-by-hour grid for each shift.
- Improved
Public demo shows a full plant, mid-shift
The no-signup demo now has three departments (Assembly, Machining, Finishing & Pack) and six cells. Its clock is fixed at 10:50 a.m. on your local date, or the previous Friday on weekends. So whatever time you visit, the hour-by-hour table and guided tour show the sample shift mid-run, and the scrap log opens on a date range that holds the sample events. You can also click from the facility board into a department board and its wall view.
- Fixed
Delivery roll-ups shown as a percentage
In the day panel, Quality and Delivery entries are now labeled Target % and Actual %, and a new entry starts from the cell's target. Where a Delivery row was recorded in units (a target over 100), the cell board, department board and wall displays now total it as made ÷ planned against 100%, instead of showing figures like 405%.
- Improved
Escalated A3s start with the 3C's cause and countermeasure
When you escalate a 3C to an A3, the 3C's cause now goes onto the fishbone and its countermeasure goes into the countermeasures table, marked "from 3C". In a new account created through the shopboard.live sign-up, the sample seal-deformation A3 now opens with its fishbone, 5-Why, countermeasures, tasks and review schedule filled in.
- Fixed
Filters and inputs sized to fit
Filters and selectors on the Metrics, Scrap and Settings pages no longer stretch across the whole row, and the hour-by-hour date controls sit on one line. The review names and notes in the A3's Follow-up section are readable again.
- Fixed
Wall display fits the screen
The wall view now sizes itself to the browser window, so all four SQDC month calendars stay on screen at 1366×768, 1600×900 and 1920×1080, and they re-fit when the window is resized. On the department wall, the calendar header now names the month you are viewing rather than the current month. On both walls, the logo is now readable in the light theme.
- Fixed
Scrap settings now apply to new entries
The scrap entry form now uses the labor rate and default disposition saved in Settings → Scrap. If your workspace never saved scrap settings, new entries now start as Pending instead of Scrapped, which matches what the Settings tab shows.
- Fixed
Save new parts to the catalog while logging scrap
When you log scrap for a part number that isn't in your catalog, the form now stays open and offers to save the part with its unit cost. The Scrap page now uses the same entry form as the boards, including the case-insensitive part match.
- Fixed
Dates follow your local calendar day
The Metrics and scrap trend charts, the Monthly Report's overdue cutoff and due dates, CSV issue imports and quick-logged issue times now use your local calendar day. In US time zones, an entry dated October 1 no longer lands in September or on the previous weekday, and due dates no longer show a day early. Issue ages no longer read "-1d ago". For an account created through the shopboard.live sign-up on a US evening, the sample data now appears on that day's board.
- Fixed
Cumulative Δ counts only hours that have happened
On the hour-by-hour table, Cumulative Δ now adds up only hours that have already happened and have an actual, and shows a dash for the rest. Applying the schedule no longer pulls the running total down by every hour still to come. Past dates count as fully elapsed. An imported or plan-only hour with no actual shows a dash instead of a red cell. The label now reads "Cumulative Δ" instead of "Cum Δ".
- Improved
Tightened data separation between companies
We tightened the database rules that keep each company's workspace, team list and invites separate from every other company's. Accepted invites now also disappear from Settings → Team.
- Fixed
Cost status scored the same on every board
Cost (scrap dollars) is now scored as lower-is-better everywhere. With a target: at or under it is green, up to 110% is yellow, above that is red. With no target: $0 is green, up to $500 is yellow, over $500 is red. The Cost tile now shows dollars instead of scrap units. On the facility board, the department board's cell table and the calendars, a cell running several shifts shows its worst shift. A Quality or Delivery tile with no target now shows no status instead of green.
- Improved
Plan descriptions: every core module on Free and Starter
The app's plan descriptions now match what each plan includes. Free and Starter both have SQDC, hour-by-hour, issues with 3C and A3, scrap tracking with Pareto, CSV import and department roll-up. Plans differ by size (Free: 1 department, 2 cells, 1 user; Starter: 3, 10 and 5; Professional: unlimited) and by the AI Lean Coach. The coach starts on Professional, and Settings → AI Coaching says so on lower plans.
- Improved
Enterprise is set up with you directly
Enterprise is no longer bought through checkout. The billing page shows it from $999 a month with a Talk to us button. Its plan card lists guided setup and training, your ERP or spreadsheet exports mapped to ShopBoard imports, and each plant set up with you.
- Improved
Minimum password length on sign-up
The app's own sign-up form now asks for a password of at least 8 characters, the same as the shopboard.live sign-up form. Sign-in is unchanged, so existing shorter passwords still work.
- New
Invite teammates from Settings → Team
Managers can add a teammate by email, name and job title. No email is sent. The teammate sees a Join prompt when they create an account with that address in the app itself. The Team and Billing pages count pending invites toward the plan's user limit, and an upgrade prompt appears when you reach it. Free includes one user, so on Free the Invite button opens the upgrade prompt.
- Improved
Demo tour starts when you ask
The public demo no longer starts its guided tour as soon as the page loads; a "Take the 60-second tour" button starts it instead. On screens narrower than 768px, that button gives way to a "Best on a desktop or tablet" note.
- Fixed
Reliable workspace setup when you sign up on shopboard.live
Signing up on shopboard.live now creates your company and manager account on the server, so setup works even when you confirm your email first. If you leave the company name blank and sign up with a personal email address (Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook and similar), the workspace is named "My plant".
- New
Try ShopBoard without signing up
A public demo at /demo-board runs the real board on sample data, with no account needed. Nothing you change there is saved, and Reset demo starts it over.
- Improved
Redesigned boards and charts
The facility, department and cell boards have a new look: status-colored SQDC tiles with arrow chips showing the gap to target, and a cell performance table and an open-issues column on the department board. The Quality and Delivery trend charts on Metrics now cap their axis at 120%, so one outlier day no longer squashes the rest of the chart.
- New
Wall view for shop-floor TVs
Kiosk mode is replaced by a Desktop / Wall toggle on department and cell boards. Wall hides the sidebar and fills the browser window with the four SQDC month calendars, a clock and open issues. The department wall also shows the current hour's plan, actual and Cumulative Δ. The cell wall shows an editable hour-by-hour table instead. You can step back through past dates and log scrap from the wall. The wall follows your light or dark theme and has its own theme toggle.
- New
A3 presenter view and export to PDF or PowerPoint
A3s now open in a step-through presenter view, and the two-column overview is one click away. Export → PDF opens your browser's print dialog laid out one section per page, so you can save it as a PDF. Export → PowerPoint downloads a deck with editable tables.
- Improved
Fishbone ranking and multiple 5-Why chains
You can click a fishbone cause to edit it and mark it Ruled out, Suspected or Confirmed. Each 5-Why chain can have from one to nine whys, and you can run a separate chain for each confirmed cause.
- Improved
Settings and Billing for managers only
Only users with the manager role can see Settings and Billing now. Operators and supervisors no longer see the link, and a direct link sends them back to the board.
- New
Plans and billing in the app
Managers can choose a plan, switch between monthly and annual billing, and manage payment from Settings → Billing, which shows usage against the plan's limits. If adding a department or cell would go past the plan's limit, an upgrade prompt opens.
